Daybreak Band takes 1st place in Long Beach parade

The Daybreak Middle School Marching Band, accompanied by the school’s flag and dance teams, captured first place May 5 in the ninth annual Loyalty Days Parade at Long Beach, Wash.

BGHS/PHS musicals earn honors in state competition

The Battle Ground School District’s Prairie Ground Drama theater program has won multiple honors in competition for the best high school musicals in the state this year.

The Battle Ground School Board May 18 named Duane Rose as interim superintendent of schools and Lynn Hicks as interim deputy superintendent until it hires a replacement for Supt. Shonny Bria, who is retiring June 30 after 15 years in the post.
