Getting ready for school in Battle Ground

The line for School Readiness Day outside BG High School on Aug. 24 was
long and the people were patient and polite. On the adjacent field, Family
Resource Day also drew crowds. Click "read more."

Backpacks and school supplies were popular items.

Next came the slightly used clothes.

In the meantime, there was plenty of free information, advice
and give-aways outside at the Family Resource Fair.

This lad was all ears at the law-enforcement table.
All kinds of generosity and community spirit by volunteers, businesses, non-profits and various local government agencies made the Family Resource Day and School Preparedness Day a dual success. Among those who did so much to pull it off were the North County Community Food Bank, Adventist Community Services, Battle Ground School District, Clark Public Utilities, Caring and Sharing, the vendors, the donors and all the individuals affiliated with these and other organizations who helped prepare for and work at this popular and civic-minded event. Thank you!
