School libraries are important sources of information for young readers. Parents and guardians are welcome to see what's available and which books their child has checked out.
How books are selected
Library books are selected because of their academic, literary and/or artistic value and merit, while also taking into account the interest, vocabulary, maturity and ability levels of all students. The library catalog should represent a balance of sources and perspectives and help foster enjoyment of reading. Students, parents, community members and teachers may suggest books for a school library. Teacher-librarians will consider these suggestions and decide whether to add the book to the catalog.
How to view the books that your child has checked out
Visit the Destiny Discover library catalog (see sidebar).
To log in: Use your child's school email address and Google password.
If you need assistance logging in, please contact the teacher-librarian at your child's school.
To limit your child's access to books
If there are books you do not wish your child to read, please contact the teacher-librarian at your child's school. The teacher librarian will note these restrictions in your child's account.
Questions or concerns?
Please contact the teacher-librarian at your child's school. Battle Ground Public Schools has a procedure for requesting removal of a book from a school library.
