Transitional Kindergarten

Transitional kindergarten is a full day, no-cost early learning program for children who will be 4 years old by Aug. 31 and not turning 5 by Aug. 31 of the following year. The program focuses on developmentally appropriate skills and social and emotional development. Students must meet eligibility requirements, and space is limited.

Research shows that students who have access to education prior to beginning kindergarten display higher literacy skills, math abilities and skills such as remembering rules and impulse control.

How to apply

Complete the 2025-26 eligibility interest form linked below. Please note that state funding guidelines and potential changes to TK regulations (HB 1450) are being considered in the Washington state Legislature.  Until the current legislative session has concluded and we are issued clear guidance from the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), we will not be able to make final decisions regarding acceptance into the TK program.  We will notify families as soon as we receive updated OSPI guidance.
