Advancing Wellness and Resilience in Education – AWARE
Battle Ground Public Schools is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for students, families, and staff. In October 2023, Battle Ground Public Schools (BGPS) was awarded funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resilience in Education).
The Battle Ground Project AWARE is designed around the two project goals:
To increase knowledge, awareness, and prevention of youth behavioral health issues through training opportunities for students, staff, and community members.
To enhance student supports through a multi-tiered, interconnected systems framework (ISF) to connect youth to needed school-based behavioral health services.
Over the next five years, the district will utilize the grant resources to develop a comprehensive, coordinated, and integrated program to advance wellness and resilience in education settings for school-aged youth.
