Understanding the perspectives of the people who make up Battle Ground Public Schools is important as we continue working toward improvement. In February 2023, staff members, students, parents and guardians had an opportunity to participate in a survey administered by the Center for Educational Effectiveness.

The data from the survey is not meant to indicate good or bad performance, but rather to provide information about what’s working well and identify opportunities for growth. The characteristics that had the highest and lowest percentages of positive responses included:

  • Staff respondents were 82% positive in their responses to questions about curriculum, instruction and assessment, and 56% positive when answering questions about focused professional development.

  • Student respondents were 83.3% positive about their schools having high standards and expectations, and 57.5% positive about staff’s monitoring of teaching and learning.

  • Family respondents were 79% positive answering questions about their schools having effective leadership, and 64.9% positive when answering questions about schools having a clear and shared focus.

How we will use this information

Results will be used to evaluate progress toward our strategic plan objectives, update school improvement plans and guide professional development for staff. We appreciate everyone who took the time to complete the survey and provide their input. This input will help us work toward positive outcomes for our students, staff, families and community.
