Chart showing BGPS graduation rates from 2013 to 2024

As we prepare to celebrate the class of 2025, we want to look back at the accomplishments of last year’s graduating class. The district’s four-year graduation rate (average of all BGPS schools) increased from 78.4% in 2023 to 81.8% in 2024. BGPS’ class of 2024 was just 1 percentage point below the state’s average four-year graduation rate that year.

Several Battle Ground schools exceeded the state’s average rate in 2024:

  • Battle Ground High School: 87.2% (increased 2 percentage points over 2023)

  • Prairie High School: 88.7% (increased 3.1 percentage points over 2023)

  • CAM Academy: 93%  (increased 0.7 percentage points over 2023)

Boosting graduation rates
Increased high school graduation rates is one of the measures of success outlined in the district’s strategic plan. The district is working to raise the number of graduating students in several ways:

  • Giving students opportunities to redo some or all of a failed course so that they can still earn credit.

  • Focused time at school each week for students to get individualized help with any classes in which they are struggling.

  • A new program (Center for High School Success) that works toward getting ninth graders to earn six credits by the end of their freshman year, which puts them on track to graduate. Data shows that students who are on track by then are much more likely to graduate on time.

While there is still more work to be done, we celebrate the accomplishments of our students and staff as reflected in the graduation rate for the class of 2024. With this momentum, we’re setting our sights even higher for the class of 2025.
